What Differentiates Purexa™ NAEX?
Purexa™ NAEX Plus is Purilogics’ line of dimethylaminoethyl-based, weak anion-exchange membrane chromatography products.
It is the highest capacity weak anion-exchange membrane chromatography product line commercially available. Purexa™ NAEX Plus has high ligand and tentacle density and is characterized by Dynamic Binding Capacity > 70 mg BSA/mL and > 40 mg salmon sperm DNA/mL. By comparison, other weak anion-exchange membrane products have a much lower DBC (e.g. BSA DBC < 30 mg/mL, ssDNA DBC<20 mg/mL).
Purexa™ NAEX Plus is further differentiated in that the NAEX Plus membrane surface is covered by polymeric tentacles. These tentacles are flexible and the unique structure can change the way biologics interact with ligands. This may be particularly true and beneficial for larger biologics used in gene & cell therapies, such as RNA, plasmid DNA, viral vectors, virus-like particles, and exosomes.
No other membrane chromatography product line offers the same level of tunability.
Larger biologics used in gene & cell therapies often have different bind-and-elute behavior compared to proteins. Different pore size, ligand and tentacle densities will be needed for different applications. Purilogics provides multiple options through our Purexa™-ScreenNAEX Plus program for customers to test. You can find the list through this link.
Additionally, Purexa™ MQ is Purilogics multimodal anion-exchange membrane chromatography product line. The ligands contain both quaternary amine and hydrophobic moieties in a flexible tentacle structure. In addition to varying pore size and ligand and tentacle density, Purilogics is able to provide MQ variations with different hydrophobicity. Similarly, Purilogics provides Purexa™-ScreenMQ program for customers to test.
